Tamweely Claims the Athletes with Disabilities Shield for the First Time at the 59th Republic Companies Championship

Tamweely Financial Services has achieved a historic milestone at the 59th Republic Companies Championship, as its athletes with disabilities claimed the Athletes with Disabilities Shield for the first time in the company’s history.

Competing across 12 sporting disciplines, Tamweely’s athletes delivered an outstanding performance, securing 172 points to top the overall standings and claim the championship shield.

The achievement marks a major milestone in Tamweely’s sporting and institutional journey. Beyond securing its first-ever Athletes with Disabilities Shield, Tamweely has become the first company in its sector to achieve this distinction, underscoring its strong commitment to empowering athletes with disabilities and providing them with the opportunities, resources and support needed to compete and excel.

The achievement also reflects Tamweely’s commitment to inclusion, equal opportunity and human empowerment, in line with Egypt’s broader efforts to empower people with disabilities and promote their meaningful participation across different areas of society.

Through its participation in the championship, Tamweely has sought to translate these principles into action by providing its athletes with disabilities with the opportunity to compete, demonstrate their capabilities and achieve excellence on an equal footing.

Ahmed Khorched, Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Tamweely Financial Services, said the historic victory represents an exceptional achievement that goes far beyond a sporting title.

“Winning the Athletes with Disabilities Shield for the first time is a proud moment for everyone at Tamweely. More importantly, it reflects the determination, resilience and capabilities of our athletes, and their ability to turn opportunity into meaningful achievement.”

Khorched emphasized that genuine empowerment begins by providing people with disabilities with the opportunity, confidence and resources they need to pursue their ambitions and demonstrate their capabilities.

“At Tamweely, we believe that true empowerment starts with giving people the confidence and opportunity to demonstrate what they can achieve. Our athletes have shown that disability does not define a person’s ability to succeed. With determination, opportunity and genuine support, capabilities can be transformed into outstanding achievements.”

He also highlighted the role of sport as an important platform for discovering talent, building confidence, strengthening teamwork and fostering a sense of belonging.

“Investing in people is one of the most important forms of sustainable investment. Sport creates opportunities to discover talent, build character and strengthen teamwork. Our athletes have demonstrated that when people are given the right opportunity and support, they can rise to the challenge and achieve at the highest level.”

Tamweely’s historic victory was built on a series of strong performances across 12 sporting disciplines, with its athletes securing multiple first- and second-place finishes, in addition to numerous cups and medals.

For Tamweely, the historic victory represents far more than another trophy added to its sporting achievements. It is a reflection of the company’s broader commitment to inclusion, equal opportunity and investing in human potential.

Tamweely’s athletes with disabilities entered the competition not simply to participate, but to compete with determination, ambition and a winning spirit. Their outstanding performances ultimately took them to the top of the overall standings and secured the Athletes with Disabilities Shield for Tamweely for the first time in its history.
