“Meshwarha: Uber invests in women’s economic participation in Egypt”

Uber today announced the launch of Meshwarha (Her Journey), a long-term initiative designed to support women’s economic participation in Egypt through learning, earning, and growth opportunities.
As the first partnership under Meshwarha, Uber is collaborating with INJAZ Egypt to support women drivers on the Uber platform through a dedicated upskilling program that equips participants with practical skills to support their personal and professional development.
Through partnerships, skills development programs, and community-focused initiatives, Meshwarha aims to help women unlock greater economic opportunity and achieve their personal and professional ambitions.
The initiative builds on Uber’s continued commitment to Egypt and its efforts to expand access to flexible earning opportunities for women. Designed as a long-term platform, the initiative will continue to evolve through partnerships and programs that enable women’s learning, earning, and growth journeys.
Celebrating Women Behind the Wheel
The launch event featured a panel discussion with Veteran actress and film producer, Esaad Younis, focused on the importance of women’s empowerment and celebrating inspiring stories from women drivers on the Uber platform. The conversation highlighted the role of support, opportunity, and personal growth in helping women achieve their ambitions.
As part of the program’s first phase, Uber and INJAZ Egypt will deliver a structured training program for 60 women drivers from across Egypt. The program will focus on critical thinking, problem solving, financial planning, saving, investing, and goal setting, providing participants with practical tools to strengthen their financial wellbeing and plan for future opportunities.

Building Pathways Beyond Mobility
“Meshwarha reflects our commitment to supporting women’s economic participation in Egypt by creating pathways to opportunity that extend beyond mobility,” said Mohamed El Shamy, General Manager, Uber Egypt. “Through our partnership with INJAZ Egypt, we are investing in the development of women drivers by providing access to practical skills that can help them achieve their goals and unlock new opportunities.”
“At INJAZ Egypt, we believe that empowering women starts with equipping them with the skills and confidence to pursue their goals” said Yasmine Wilson, Managing Director, INJAZ Egypt. Our partnership with Uber on Meshwarha reflects a shared commitment to creating opportunities for women to learn, grow, and thrive. Through this initiative, we aim to support women drivers with practical life and financial skills that help them achieve their aspirations.”
Strengthening Pathways to Economic Inclusion
Women drivers play an important role in Egypt’s mobility ecosystem, contributing to greater economic inclusion and access to earning opportunities. Through Meshwarha, Uber aims to build on this impact by supporting women not only through access to earning opportunities, but also through initiatives that foster learning, confidence, and personal development.
The launch of the initiative with INJAZ Egypt marks the beginning of a broader effort to create more pathways for women to learn, grow, and access new opportunities across Egypt. Through future partnerships and initiatives, Uber aims to continue expanding the impact of Meshwarha and supporting women throughout their journeys.
