«Amadeus Egypt» Hosts Exclusive Event with Travel Industry Leaders to Discuss Future Innovations
Under the theme “A Glimpse Into the Future of Travel”, Amadeus Egypt hosted a significant event on Tuesday, bringing together 100 leading companies from the travel sector, including travel agencies, airlines, IATA representatives, payment solutions providers, and technology partners.
The gathering focused on exploring the future of travel in the Egyptian market and the next-generation technologies that can drive industry growth and transformation.
The event commenced with a technology showcase, where Amadeus presented its latest products and solutions, highlighting the Amadeus Online Suite—a comprehensive end-to-end e-commerce solution featuring an integrated booking engine. Discussions centered on the transition from traditional offerings to modern retailing, particularly through the New Distribution Capability (NDC).
NDC is a technology standard created by IATA that offers new distribution capabilities. It offers a flexible, dynamic, and customer-focused approach to airline content distribution. At Amadeus, NDC is a key strategic priority. So much so, we have a program dedicated to it called [NDC]. Through this program, and in collaboration with our airline, travel agency and corporate customers and partners, we are delivering on NDC today and bringing this vision of enhanced travel retailing to life.
A key highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring prominent industry partners such as Paytabs, Valu, Caxita, and Zoho. These experts shared insights on how industry stakeholders can collaborate to provide travel sellers with competitive business models, thereby strengthening the Egyptian travel ecosystem.
Mervat Alfy, General Manager of Amadeus Egypt, emphasized the ongoing transformation within the travel industry.
“The travel industry in Egypt is undergoing significant change, driven by technological advancements. More airlines are offering NDC content, and travel sellers are increasingly recognizing the need to invest in technology to seize growing opportunities in the e-commerce space”, Alfy stated.
She also noted: “Amadeus Egypt is at the forefront of this transformation, providing the technical solutions needed to help travel agencies realize their ambitions—from delivering relevant content to enabling smart end-to-end retailing capabilities.”
The evening concluded with a ceremony recognizing the outstanding achievements of top travel agencies for their exceptional performance in 2024.
